50. Argentina: A resort and animal research institute in one. Part 1
Now that The Wandelgek had returned from his adventures in Brazil, there were a couple of days left before he would travel back home. Most of these days were planned in Argentina’s utmost north-east.
He had booked a nice large room in a resort just on the outside of the small city of Puerto Iguazu.
Here’s a bit of an impression of what living in that resort was like:
First of all the:
Hotelroom
The room was spacy, it had a tele and enough cupboard space as well. The bed was great.
The bathroom was clean, it had a shower, toilet and a …
But as usual The Wandelgek was not gonna be a lot in his hotelroom.
There was so much more to see at this rather large area of the resort.
The animal research facility
A large part of the resort was actually an animal research facility. To get in you need a ticket, except if you are already a guest of the resort. Than access to everything is free.
In an upcoming blogpost I’ll show you more about this animal research facility but in this this post I’ll concentrate on the guest areas of the resort.
The Restaurant
After entering the main building, you get in the beautiful reception and restaurant area and during the worldchampionships of football, there was a television to see the matches …
The restaurant did have some beautiful decorations …
And good drinks (beer as well as wine) ….
Argentina is famous for its meat, so yes they did have that on the menu …
… some good Argentine Malbec’s too ….
At tge end of the evening, sitting at the bar, the collection of clean glasses caught The Wandelgek’s eye…
Lunches were really good too …
A vegetable and fruit salad for a change instead of the customary meat …
Next The Wandelgek walked out into:
The Wetland area
From the restaurant area to the rooms, which were in another building was simply a gorgeous walk …
First a wooden path led me through a wetland area where lots of birds, insects and frogs could be heard …
The area was really. Really beautiful, even after dark and there were always animal sound…
It was quite a long wooden walkway keepong visitors from plunging in the water and endangering themselves. There might be snakes or crocs in the area…
Swimmingpool…
There were retreats into the shade, which were very welcome at 35 to 37 Celsius.
A great place to read a book, cool down a bit in the pool, read a travel guide or simply sleep a bit. The south american teavels were slowly coming to an end (not quite yet though) and the need for reflection over what had passed in the last couple of weeks grew. A bit more ZEN…
There were also grassy areas with small seats, a fountain and an outdoor handicraft shop ….
Then the path leads on through beautiful bright, white corridors…
… of several buildings where guestrooms were located …
… it was all a bit like a subtropical garden …
… the corridors kept the guests out of the fierce sun …
And just before entering the building where my room was, there was a green field with a small:
Chapel
You could almost forget about it being december, with this 37 degrees Celsius temperatures and clear blue sunny skies, but it was. It was therefore almost Christmas too …
In front of the door some small statues were welcoming people in ….
Inside the chapel everything looked athmospheric and sober …
Candlelights and colorful stainglass windows
Next follows the building where the actual rooms are:
The staircases, mirrors, an elevator …
The Wandelgek obviously had taken a last beer from the restaurant to his hotelroom …
The end! … for now.
